Almost all processor modules have 3 part numbers. The ending –BB means Base Bundle (module that is included in the basic package of the router), -S means Spare (spare) and –R - Redundant (redundant, reserve).
Many routing platforms support the installation of 2 identical processor modules in one device. One is configured as the leader (master), while the second (redundant) acts as a backup, and in case of failure of the first takes the role of the leader.
